Lost River Cave’s Spring Break Nature Discovery Camp is designed for children ages 6-12 who will meet every morning for five days to learn more about nature, enjoy the outdoors and make nature-inspired crafts. The camp begins Monday, April 1, 2019. Each session will last from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and will include a nutritious, mid-morning snack. Children will learn about Life Then and Life Now in South-Central Kentucky. The Nature Education Center programs at Lost River Cave are constructed to give children the best possible hands-on experience in the outdoors.

April 1, 2019: Native Americans
Discover the ancient people who visited Lost River Cave. Learn of their cultures and lifestyles, and see examples of tools they left behind.
April 2, 2019: Environmental Issues
The earth has changed in so many ways and so has people’s attitudes about it. Learn about such things as ancient earth, historic climates, and forest changes. Discover how people have both helped and hurt the earth and how you can make a difference.
April 3, 2019: Rocks and Minerals
Ever heard of the Bowling Green Limestone?? This area is famous for more geology than just caves. What ancient environment resulted in the unique rocks and minerals we see today? Why are they important and how do we use them?
April 4, 2019: Life on the Prairie
Explore the native Barrens Prairie Region of Kentucky at Lost River Cave. Learn about the unique adaptions of the plants and animals and what helps them live life on the prairie.
April 5, 2019: Green Screens
Modern Technology in nature has many benefits. Learn how to merge technology while enjoying nature for a better overall experience!
